What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a secure and simple way to exchange and share files over the Internet.
Why do we use FTP?
FTP is important to have when there are many large size files to be shared or exchanged that are unable to be sent via email. We use FTP to give our clients easy access to these files. It is used as a storage base where our clients can upload files for Cowan + Associates. They can also log in to view files that Cowan + Associates has uploaded for them.
How does it work?
Cowan + Associates uses Time Warner Cable’s SmartDrive to host their FTP.

FTP is password protected and secure, so only you and Cowan + Associates can view the shared files. Clients must contact their Project Manager to have a username and password created.
To access, simply follow the FTP Access link provided and enter the username, password, and domain. The domain for Cowan + Associates is always “cowanandassociates.com.”
